A few days ago I got the opportunity to try out someone’s e-bike for a couple of days and I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. These bikes are great! It really takes cycling to a whole new level, a faster one that is!
Hi there! Remember me? It’s been waaaay too long since my last update and I apologize for that, but a lot has happened since then. First of all I changed the name of my blog from ‘Aspie Story’ to ‘Hyper Inspiration’. The reason for changing the name of this blog, is that I would like to be able to post more then just Aspie related stories. Kinda like I did before, when I started posting pictures that I took. Only this time I won’t feel bad about breaking the mold.
The hyper part of the name reflects the state I often find myself in, although I’d like to call it: being very very very very very very very enthusiastic! I also like to inspire other’s through my work, goofy stories and interesting bits and pieces I find scattered across the world wide web. Hence the inspiration part of the name. It was also the only name not being taken already that I didn’t dislike, so there you go!
It’s been a while since my last post, but I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a great new start of 2015!
The last couple of days we didn’t had much of a winter here in Holland, but we had plenty of storms. Yesterday a windmill in our town even lost it’s sails!
The purpose of this particular windmill (build in 1565) went away when a neighborhood was created around it in 1965, but it remained as a monument and landmark for the area. The elderly owner of the windmill was all over the news yesterday because he was (naturally) devastated by what had happened. Two hours after the accident occurred I happened to be close by and decided to take a look and of course to take a few pictures.
This time a picture that shows the beautiful city of New York from a helicopter. It was a thrill to see the city like this. We were also very lucky, since we arrived early at the heli platform we were able to get on board with a more exclusive flight at no extra charge.
I tried to follow all the safety instructions, but just seconds before the helicopter took off, I manged to unmount my seatbelt (several actually at the same time with a simple twist… Houdini would’ve been so proud of me) and in a few very scary seconds I was able to connect them together again, just in time… barely… before we went airborne. Just like posting this picture before it becomes Saturday. Just in time. 😉
Last week I went to a nearby forest to take a few pictures, which would hopefully sent across the “autumn vibe”. 🙂
Even though I don’t like posting anything without a lot of accompanying words, these pictures are quite self explanatory. There’s really no need to bury you in an avalanche of words to describe them to you, so here are the pictures without further ado!
I know, I know, it’s Saturday and I’m posting a “Picture Friday”. The world has gone mad! I was exhausted yesterday and unfortunately couldn’t post anything. I’m going to make up for that today by posting one of my most favorite NYC pictures I took.
I’m running late, but certainly didn’t forget… it’s time for another ‘Picture Friday’!
I’ve titled it ‘Pigeons Galore’ because of, well… all the galore. I mean pigeons! They were all sitting there (more then 60 of them) on the traffic light and I just had to take a picture before crossing the street. I took this one close to Central Park, near the Plaza hotel which you can still see in the background on the right. The building is probably best known for it’s appearances in Home Alone 2. A now classic movie from 1992 that also features a lot of pigeons. I might as well call this picture ‘Pigeons Galore before the Plaza hotel’ but it would probably confuse people because of the famous song ‘Pigeons Galore, Oh look there’s the Plaza hotel’. Yes… very famous. Now before you start to look up this song in Spotify, I want to wish you all a very nice weekend!
